Waiting On Wednesday

So, I've seen Waiting On Wednesday posts before, and have come to the realization that my "Books I Can't Wait For" feature is the same things.

Cute.

Why I didn't make the connection before, I don't know, but I'm officially changing my Books I Can't Wait For feature to "Waiting on Wednesday" simply because I love alliteration, hehe.

Credit to this cute title goes to Jill at Breaking the Spine.

Lisi Harrison's Alphas #1

From Amazon:
At OCD the losers are tormented.

At Alpha Academy, they're sent home.

Skye Hamilton has scored an invitation to the ultra-exclusive Alphas-only boarding school where beta is spelled LBR . What happens when the country's best, brightest, and hawtest begin clawing and scratching their way to the top?

This a new series from The Cliuqe author Lisa Harrison. I don't know what it is, but I'm really excited for this series. It seems to be similar to Brian's Private, but for some reason I have this feeling that it's different.

You can read the Alpha Academey acceptance letter on Harrison's blah-g here.
Catch Alphas #1 on August 25.

Heather Hepler's The Cupcake Queen

From Amazon:

A confection of a novel, combining big city sophistication with small town charm.

When her mother moves them from the city to a small town to open up a cupcake bakery, Penny’s life isn’t what she expected. Her father has stayed behind, and Mom isn’t talking about what the future holds for their family. And then there’s Charity, the girl who plays mean pranks almost daily. There are also bright spots in Hog’s Hollow—like Tally, an expert in Rock Paper Scissors, and Marcus, the boy who is always running on the beach. But just when it looks as though Penny is settling in, her parents ask her to make a choice that will turn everything upside down again. A sweet novel about love, creativity, and accepting life’s unexpected turns.

This cover looks really sweet (excuse the pun, I couldn't help it!). The story seems different from what I've been reading lately, and the characters seem to be the same way. I mean, when was the last time you read about a Rock Paper Scissors expert :)?

Catch Heather Hepler in her first solo novel September 17.

Oh I really liked the novels that Heather Hepler co-wrote. I hadn't realised she's writing a solo novel, but yay! I love how quirky and different all her characters are, so now I'm really looking forward to The Cupcake Queen. Plus, the cover's super cute. It makes me hungry. :P Great picks!

OMG I totally agree with both! The Clique books have always been my guilt-free pleasure reads, and I love the sound of the second--who could resist cupcakes???

Alex, I love the cover too! Cupcakes are a definite weakness!

Bookworm, I'm glad you like the picks. I'm so excited about Alphas #1!

I've added you both to my blog roll, by the way!
