Contests, Contests, Contests!

Given that this is a new blog, I personally am not doing contests... yet. However there are plenty of book blogs out there sharing the love right now! Here are a few giveaways that stand out to me, and as always you check the left sidebar for more!

Twenties Girl by Sophie Kinsella

I know I already mentioned Sophie Kinsella's new novel, Twenties Girl, but not I'm tell you a chance to win it!

By texting TWENTY to 49737, and you'll be entered to win! Standard rates apply.

The contest ends July 20, so hurry and enter! Be sure to stop by the official Sophie Kinsella site and sign up for her newsletter, too!

You are Here by Jennifer E. Smith

Book Divas, one of my favorite book sites, is giving away two autographed copies of Jennifer E. Smith's newest novel, You are Here.

Here's the synopsis :

Emma, who has always felt she was the black sheep of her family, discovers that she was actually born a twin and her brother died just two days after their births. Emma then sets out to find the grave of her brother- and herself. Peter Finnagan, her next door neighbor, is desperate to skip town and Emma's journey from upstate New York to North Carolina is just the ticket.

The contest ends July 15! While you're there, be sure to sign up for Book Divas. They have contests every month!

Twenty Boy Summer by Sarah Ockler

I know I already posted a contest for Ockler's Twenty Boy Summer on the sidebar, but Garden of Books is giving it away too! Double the chances to win!

Also, Kidlit is giving away ARCs of Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater and Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins. I've heard Shiver being compared to Twilight but in the wolves sense, so if you're a Twilight fan, this could be a good read for you. It's definitely on my TBR. I haven't read any of Collins' work, but if you have, this could be for you :)

Books I Can't Wait For

I just love when I find out about an upcoming book! It gives me something to look forward to. Plus, it helps me remember to put it on hold at the library as soon as it comes out :).

So each week, I'll be dedicating a post to books that have yet to be released, but sound like they'll be page turners!

Girl to the Core

by Stacey Goldblatt

Release Date: July 14

Synopsis: Fifteen year old Molly 'O Keefe has lost all control of her life. If it's not her nine year old sister signing her up for a walkathon or her best friend buying a neon spandex Halloween costume, it's her boyfriend cheating on her. Molly wants to find out who she really is. Will signing up for her little sister's club, Girl Corps, help her figure herself out?

Twenties Girl

by Sophie Kinsella

Release Date: July 21

I love Sophie Kinsella novels, so I'm really excited for this new novel. Visited by the ghost of her feisty great aunt Sadie, it is up to Lara to find her missing necklace. With her new company going downhill and recently being dumped, this couldn't have come at a worse time.

Confessions of A Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella

In celebration of the DVD release of Confessions of A Shopaholic, I've dedicated my first post to the book it was based on!

Becky Bloomwood wouldn't call her shopping an addiction. It's more like a hobby, really. Actually, shopping is kind of a neccesity if you think about it. You need clothes, right? Yes, shopping is a neccesity. A really, really, expensive one...

Becky, a (ironically) financial analyst for Successful Saving magazine has got to find a way out of this debt. Up to her eyeballs in credit card bills, Becky sets out to find a way to save money. With bank manager Derek Smeath getting tired of her various excuses, and her debt increasing before her eyes, Becky is at a loss.

My rating:

This book gets four stars. If you've seen the movie, you already know how hilarious Becky is, and she's even funnier in the book! After reading this book, I went straight to its sequel, Shopaholic Takes Manhattan. For every shopaholic out there, this series is for you!
