The Espressologist
by Kristina Springer
From Amazon:
What’s your drink of choice? Is it a small pumpkin spice latte? Then you’re lots of fun and a bit sassy. Or a medium americano? You prefer simplicity in life. Or perhaps it’s a small decaf soy sugar-free hazelnut caffe latte? Some might call you a yuppie. Seventeen-year-old barista Jane Turner has this theory that you can tell a lot about a person by their regular coffee drink. She scribbles it all down in a notebook and calls it Espressology. So it’s not a totally crazy idea when Jane starts hooking up some of her friends based on their coffee orders. Like her best friend, Em, a medium hot chocolate, and Cam, a toffee nut latte. But when her boss, Derek, gets wind of Jane’s Espressology, he makes it an in-store holiday promotion, promising customers their perfect matches for the price of their favorite coffee. Things are going better than Derek could ever have hoped, so why is Jane so freaked out? Does it have anything to do with Em dating Cam? She’s the one who set them up! She should be happy for them, right?
Okay, my WoW posts seem to be on some sort of a food kick. But can you blame me? There are so many yummy books out there (pun intended)! This book sounds hilarious and like it's going to be a great debut for new novelist Springer.
Grab a copy of The Espressologist and head to Starbucks! This book debuts October 27!
The Comeback
by Marlene Perez
From Amazon:
Sophie Donnelly is one half of the most popular and powerful couple in school, until new girl Angie Vogel shows up and compromises everything. Angie steals Sophie's starring role in the school play, and, worse, her super-popular boyfriend. Sophie has been quickly dispatched to social Siberia, but not for long--she'll do anything it takes to make a triumphant comeback.
The description doesn't give away too much, which I like. I'm curious to see how Sophie makes the comeback... and whether said comeback is with or without the boyfriend. Plus the cover looks great.
Catch The Comeback out August 1!
A Match Made in High School
by Kristen Walker
From Amazon:
When the principal announces that every senior must participate in a mandatory year-long Marriage Education program, Fiona Sheehan believes that her life can’t get any worse. Then she marries her “husband”: jerky jock Todd, whose cheerleader girlfriend, Amanda, has had it in for Fiona since day one of second grade. Even worse? Amanda is paired with Fiona’s long-term crush, Gabe. At least Fiona is doing better than her best friend, Marcie, who is paired up with the very quiet, very mysterious Johnny Mercer.Pranks, fights, misunderstandings, and reconciliations ensue in an almost Shakespearean comedy of errors about mistaken first impressions, convoluted coupling, and hidden crushes.
I love the story line of this novel already. You can already tell the lines of communication between these characters are definitely going to get crossed and some unexpected love connections are bound to be made. After all, everything happens for a reason.
As fabulous as this book sounds, it doesn't hit stores until February 4, 2010. Sounds like I'll be waiting several more Wednesdays for this novel.
